INSTRUCTIONAL (I LEAGUE)

An introduction to fast-pitch softball specifically designed for 6, 7, and 8-year-old girls. Volunteer coaches focus on teaching the players the fundamentals of the game which will aid in their softball development. The season consists of 14 games beginning with the first seven being coach pitch and the last seven coaches will incorporate player pitch. If a batter struggles to hit the ball while coach pitch, then a coach can use a hitting tee for the player to hit the ball. This will help keep the fielding team engaged as well. Games are played on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Games do not have to be made up, but we will encourage coaches to work together and with League officials to schedule a makeup game that could be played outside of the set days listed above. No scores or standings are kept as the purpose is for the girls to enjoy themselves and begin to develop an understanding of the fundamentals of the game of softball. The girls pitch from 30’ and the bases are set at 60’. Each player receives a jersey, shorts, socks, and a personalized visor with their number on it. Please refer to the Age Verification tap and confirm eligibility for this age group using the chart provided.
